Are you looking for your next exciting challenge? YMCA Cheltenham is seeking an Assistant Housing Manager to complement the management team of our housing project in Cheltenham. This is an exciting time to join the organisation as we continue to grow and expand to meet the ever-increasing housing needs in Gloucestershire. Since 2014 we have grown from having one supported housing project of 50 beds to being able to offer more than 250 beds every night, including long-term affordable accommodation, low to high level supported accommodation, emergency homeless provision, a winter refuge for those rough sleeping and budget tourist accommodation. YMCA Cheltenham is a Christian Charity that seeks to meet the needs of young people and the wider community. The Assistant Housing Manager’s role is to assist and support the Housing Manager in all aspects of the management of accommodation for homeless individuals at our 73-unit project in Cheltenham. Assist and support the Housing Manager in the management of the day to day operations of housing provision at our Vittoria Walk site; Contribute towards and assist the Housing Manager in overseeing the delivery of support, advice and individual programmes that enable residents to develop holistically in body, mind and spirit, with particular emphasis on residents with support needs; Deliver an effective and quality service to residents that promotes a tolerant and caring environment within the housing project consistent with Christian values; Develop strong professional relationships with all YMCA Cheltenham stakeholders. Friendly and approachable, you will have the ability to be firm but fair, maintaining professional boundaries at all times. You will help assist the Housing Manager to develop and lead a team of staff that have the skills and capability to deliver a wide range of high quality and culturally sensitive services that are appropriate to the needs of our client groups. Taking a Trauma Informed Approach you will help to ensure the project becomes a vibrant place to live, offering a range of personal, social and spiritual programmes helping residents to reach their individual goals, leading to independent living. You will be able to build positive relationships with a wide range of people, including residents, colleagues, partner and other local agencies, attending on- and off-site meetings as required. Together with this you will have ability to develop and maintain strong partnerships with local services that will provide support to our residents, playing a vital part in enhancing their lives. The successful candidate will have worked within a similar role previously and be able to demonstrate the capacity to work with vulnerable/challenging client groups. They will also have excellent management skills, an understanding of balancing business needs against our charitable objectives, and be able to deliver on positive outcomes.
