Are you looking for your next exciting challenge? YMCA Cheltenham is seeking an Assistant Housing Manager to join the team at our 16-unit housing project in the centre of Gloucester. This is an exciting time to join the organisation as we continue to grow and expand to meet the ever-increasing housing needs in Gloucestershire. Since 2014 we have grown from having one supported housing project of 50 beds to being able to offer more than 250 beds every night, including long-term affordable accommodation, low to high level supported accommodation, emergency homeless provision, a winter refuge for those rough sleeping and budget tourist accommodation. YMCA Cheltenham is a Christian Charity that seeks to meet the needs of young people and the wider community. The Assistant Housing Manager’s role is to: Offer support, advice and individual programmes to 16 residents, enabling them to develop holistically in body, mind and spirit. Assist the Housing Manager with all aspects of the day to day operations of the housing provision at the Gloucester St Michael’s site. Manage the project in the absence of the Housing Manager. Promote a tolerant and caring environment within the housing project consistent with Christian values. Develop strong professional relationships with all Gloucester stakeholders. Friendly and approachable, you will have the ability to be firm but fair, maintaining professional boundaries at all times. You will assist the Housing Manager in the running of St Michael’s House and supporting our residents into independence. Taking a Trauma Informed Approach you will help to ensure the project becomes a vibrant place to live, offering a range of personal, social and spiritual programmes helping residents to reach their individual goals, allowing them to fulfil their potential. You will be able to build positive relationships with a wide range of people, including residents, colleagues, partner and other local agencies, attending on- and off-site meetings as required. Together with this you will have ability to develop and maintain strong partnerships with local services that will provide support to our residents, playing a vital part in enhancing their lives. The successful candidate will have worked within a similar role previously and be able to demonstrate the capacity to work with vulnerable/challenging client groups. They will also have excellent management skills, an understanding of balancing business needs against our charitable objectives, and be able to deliver on positive outcomes.
