YMCA Cheltenham is a Christian Charity that seeks to meet the needs of young people and the wider community.

The Assistant Manager’s role is to:

  • Promote a tolerant and caring environment within the housing project consistent with Christian values.
  • Develop strong professional relationships with all Gloucester stakeholders.

Friendly and approachable, you will have the ability to be firm but fair, maintaining professional boundaries at all times. You will assist the Housing Manager in the running of St Michael’s House and supporting our residents into independence.

Taking a Trauma Informed Approach you will help to ensure the project becomes a vibrant place to live, offering a range of personal, social and spiritual programmes helping residents to reach their individual goals, allowing them to fulfil their potential.

You will be able to build positive relationships with a wide range of people, including residents, colleagues, partner and other local agencies, attending on- and off-site meetings as required. Together with this you will have ability to develop and maintain strong partnerships with local services that will provide support to our residents, playing a vital part in enhancing their lives.

The successful candidate will have worked within a similar role previously and be able to demonstrate the capacity to work with vulnerable/challenging client groups.
