Housekeeper Vacancy at Dulverton Court & James Smith Row, Cheltenham Position: Housekeeper Based at: Dulverton Court, Cheltenham & James Smith Row, Cheltenham Rate of pay: £8.21 per hour Hours of work: 5 hours per week with availability to work overtime when required Responsible to: Housing Manager (Dulverton Court and James Smith Row) Closing Date & Interviews: Applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis, with interviews being arranged accordingly. We are looking for a Housekeeper who will join our affordable accommodation team in Cheltenham and be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the buildings and grounds by performing various cleaning and housekeeping duties. The Housekeeper will also ensure that flats are cleaned to an impeccable standard in preparation for letting. SALARY AND BENEFITS: £8.21 per hour 5 hours per week Annual leave - 20 days per annum for a full-time employee rising by an additional day per year after 2 years’ service to a maximum of 25 days Contributory Pension Scheme Free use of the YMCA Fitness Suite and Sports Facilities currently available The Main Responsibilities of the Housekeeper’s role are: (a) To perform End of Tenancy cleaning* involving, but not limited to: cleaning and degreasing of kitchen area (oven, cooker hood, extractor fan, cupboards, draws, work surfaces, floor, wall tiles, etc,); cleaning and disinfecting of ensuite area (shower, toilet, washbasin, countertop, extractor fan, wall heater, wall tiles, mirrors, floors, etc,); cleaning of living/bedroom area (floor, walls, ceiling, skirting, radiator, doors, window ledges, windows, etc,); cleaning of external area (doors, windows, pathways, stairways, letterboxes, etc.). *There may be little notice for end of tenancy cleaning, which will mean that a quick response is needed. (b) To clean communal spaces and staff areas (corridors, staff office, plant room, stairways, etc,) to involve, but not limited to: vacuum and shampoo the carpeted floors; sweep, and wash when necessary, the non-carpeted floors; routine cleaning and tidying of the building including all internal areas; dust, and polish where necessary, including furniture, ledges and skirting; polish metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings; clean windows and glass work; remove any litter/rubbish from the floor; empty the rubbish bins in the office and communal areas. (c) To maintain the cleanliness of the external areas/grounds, ensuring the outside bins are kept clean; sweeping and jet washing paths; picking up litter. (d) To maintain a welcoming and friendly approach and manner to all visitors and tenants. (e) To complete and follow relevant housekeeping paperwork. (f) To assist the Housing Manager in ensuring there is an adequate stock of cleaning materials at all times. (g) To report maintenance matters, damage to fixtures and fittings, and any unusual behaviour to the Housing Manager or in their absence the YMCA Property Manager. (h) To attend meetings as required. (i) To comply with YMCA Cheltenham’s aims and purposes, and policies. (j) To perform any other relevant activities requested by the Housing Manager.
