Are you looking for your next exciting challenge? YMCA Cheltenham is seeking a Night Concierge based in the Supported Housing department in Vittoria Walk to join the organisation.

The Night Concierge role is responsible for support, safety and security of all residents between 8.00pm and 8.00am.  This role is an opportunity to build on the work undertaken by key workers during the day time hours.  The role will also involve making sure the project is quiet, safe and secure throughout the night.

To be successful in this role, you should be hard working and confident in dealing with people. You must also be highly competent in office technologies, including Microsoft 365, cloud-based systems and ability to be able to pick up in-house HR systems easily.

This is an exciting time to join the organisation as we continue to grow and expand to meet the ever-increasing housing needs in Gloucestershire.

Since 2014 we have grown from having one supported housing project of 50 beds to being able to offer more than 250 beds every night, including long-term affordable accommodation, low to high level supported accommodation, and emergency homeless provision.

YMCA Cheltenham is an organisation founded on Christian values and, as such, employees may encounter behaviours or vestiges particular to or representative of the Christian faith in the work-place. Employees are not required to adhere to the Christian faith or any faith, and no such consideration is taken into account by the organisation when making employment choices or in delivering its services.

You will be part of the Night Team in a large supported housing team providing support to the residents.   As a Night Concierge you will be required to ensure residents abide by the agreed terms and conditions of occupation of the premises and to report any breaches of that agreement.  You will be required to maintain accurate records of incidents, contacts and financial transactions through recordings on the housing management system and incident report forms.  You will be required to keep the Night Support Co-ordinator/Housing Manager informed about all matters relating to the housing project and shifts worked.  You will need to supervise, induct and train staff (YMCA and Agency).

For full details of the role, please see the job description here.

The organisation provides a contributory pension, 20 days holiday (increasing after 2 years with an additional extra day of holiday, up to a maximum of an additional 5 days) and up to 10 days sick pay per annum.  The organisation also offers non-contractual benefits such as life assurance, health plan (such as money off dentistry and opticians), bike to work scheme and free use of the organisation’s sports facilities.

Applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis, with interviews being arranged accordingly.

As part of the recruitment process you will be expected to complete a YMCA Cheltenham Application Form and Equal Opportunities Policy Monitoring Form.

Please email completed forms to [email protected]
