YMCA Sports Centre Manager




£27,000 per annum, full-time

If the answer is yes, this role might be right for you - YMCA Cheltenham is looking to recruit a Sports Centre Manager on a full-time, permanent basis. The YMCA Sports Centre is based in College Drive, Cheltenham.  

Since 2014 YMCA Cheltenham has grown from having one supported housing project of 50 beds to being able to offer more than 250 beds every night, including long-term affordable accommodation, low to high level supported accommodation, and emergency homeless provision. The Sports Centre Manager will be responsible for the day to day management, development of a vibrant and varied timetable of health and wellbeing activities and the promotion and marketing of the YMCA Cheltenham Sports Centre.

In addition, the Sports Centre Manager will, when directed, assist and facilitate with the development and delivery of health & wellbeing activities designed to proactively and positively engage with the communities in which the Charity operates.   

To be successful in this role, you will have substantial knowledge of the sports, health and fitness industry and be able to manage your own workload, with minimum supervision.  You will have a minimum of 2 years previous experience of working in the sports, health and fitness industry, experience of managing a team, a track record of generating income in the sports, health and fitness environment and ideally experience of working and engaging with children and young people in this environment.

  • Salary for this post is £27,000 per annum full-time
  • Annual leave is 20 days per annum rising by an additional day per year after 2 years’ service to a maximum of 25 days.
